In 1984, Lauro "Mang Larry" Condencido Jr. started with just P40 — about three times his monthly salary at the time — to buy nearly 3 kilos of intestines. With no stall to his name, he used an old baby stroller as a makeshift table and walked the streets of UP Diliman.
By 1995, he left his job as a janitor at LVN Pictures Inc. to focus full-time on his booming grilling business. Today, Mang Larry's Isawan has grown into a multi-branch institution that has put generations of his children through college.
